My First Audition/Casting Call

On September 28, 2025, I went to my first casting call for Slay Magazine! Everyone seemed very nice. When it was time to start, we went to a different building on the side of the one we were in. There were two lines, one for rehearsals and the other for auditions, you sign in your name, phone number, and if you are a vendor, model, etc. They then give you a number ,everyone waits. We go in groups of 5 or 6, Females stand in a T-stands. When they nod or point at you then you walk. They will tell you yes or no and if you were picked you would take off your number they gave you and go to the rehearsal line, if not then you would take off your number and go. Unfortunately I was one of those that went home. I know I won’t get them all and that okay, but it made me sad because I could tell that they wanted me to make it into that other line. It was my turn to walk and I was in pain from the heels I had on but I still walked, they were smiling but before I made it to them I was stopped and asked if I had a different shoe to walk in. the lady that was showing us how to walk asked what size shoe I wore and I told her “6 1/2 to a 7, it depends”, she even offered to allow me to walk in her shoes. In the end I was upset that I didn’t make it because of a shoe but I gained more experience and got to meet some really nice people. Next time will be better and I will show them what I am made of!
